THE TOWN OF WILMINGTON is situated in the Greater Boston Area, which has excellent rail, air, and highway facilities. State Route 128 and Interstate Route 495 divide the region into inner and outer zones. The recently built commuter rail train station has plenty of parking and is a convenient alternative to driving. An early railroad corridor served to connect Wilmington to Boston, Lowell and Andover. It was completed in 1836 and trolley lines were set up in the late 19th century. At this time the town was primarily an agricultural economy growing fruit, vegetables and cranberries.

Wilmington has more than grown and it has become a popular choice for professionals to purchase single family residences for their families to grow and thrive in. Nowadays it is rare to even see a farm in Wilmington-but upscale executive type developments are becoming more common place. Wilmington's location it is nestled between Routes 128, 93 and 3A, it has become a commuter's dream location which has lots to offer the growing family.
