THE TOWN OF WILMINGTON is situated in the Greater Boston Area, which has excellent rail, air, and highway facilities. State Route 128 and Interstate Route 495 divide the region into inner and outer zones. The recently built commuter rail train station has plenty of parking and is a convenient alternative to driving. An early railroad corridor served to connect Wilmington to Boston, Lowell and Andover. It was completed in 1836 and trolley lines were set up in the late 19th century.
