THE TOWN OF NORTH READING, is located in Essex County and is just 15 miles north of Boston. It is a relatively small town with a poplulation of a little over 19,000 and the median cost of a home is somewhat higher than surrounding communities, it has an excellent school system with brand new buildings making it great for family starting families. The crime rate is quite low, and it has safe communities throughout the town. The town has a mix of the bigger chain type of stores but throughout the town there are many small, family owned businesses with freindly and welcoming shop owners.
There are local restaurants, cafes and coffee shops and town center retains its historic roots with a Federal style meeting house and an affluent Federal village with a well-preserved district of period houses. With its parks, rivers and sports fields in town with many youth leagues, and a wide array of family events going on through the year, makes North Reading a really great choice in which to live.
